Finances and how you can help...
Finances
Financially, City of Rest is mostly depending on local support from both churches, organisations and individual Christians. Occasionally gifts are received from overseas.
Parents or relatives of our guests are asked to make a reasonable monthly contribution towards the feeding of their family member. However, many of our guests come from families who cannot afford to pay this amount, while others have been completely abandoned and have no-one to pay for them. As we do not like to turn down any person for financial reasons, our monthly budget is heavily stretched.
Our staff members receive no formal salary, but a small monthly stipend. Were it not for their love for God and their commitment to the ministry, many would have left us. We are grateful for their faithfulness.
City of Rest is seeking opportunities to strengthen their financial position and increase the sustainability of the organisation.
If you want to support us financially, check under “How You Can Help”.

Friends of City of Rest
“Friends of City of Rest U.K.” is the first group of supporters that has united themselves to support the work of City of Rest in various ways from the U.K.
For more information or to find out about their next meeting, please contact Mr. Roy Bishop or Mr. Augustine Musa.
We are looking for volunteers to start a similar initiative in the U.S.A. If you are interested, please contact Heleen van den Brink.
Volunteers
City of Rest is willing to consider enquiries from any one wishing to volunteer with training and experience in the field of substance abuse and/or mental health. Enquirers should be Christians, or respect the Christian character of the work, aware and respectful of cultural differences. Their main focus should be to empower the local staff through (practical) training.
For more information, contact our consultant, Heleen van den Brink.
Mission Direct
Mission Direct is a U.K. based organisation bringing in teams from the U.K. and U.S.A. to help with the construction of the new City of Rest facilities. For more information and trip dates, check www.missiondirect.org.
